What is breast augmentation?

Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure that enhances or restores breast volume. This can be achieved with implants, fat transfer (lipofilling), or with the unique EVE device.

It may be chosen for many reasons: restoring fullness after pregnancy or weight loss, correcting asymmetry, completing partial reconstruction, or simply aligning your body with how you want to feel.

Breast Augmentation

Advantages

Breast augmentation offers numerous benefits beyond aesthetic enhancement

Aesthetic Enhancement & Symmetry

Improves the overall silhouette by balancing the size and shape of the breasts.

Boost in Self-Confidence

A more harmonious appearance can enhance body image and self-esteem.

Customized Options

Patients can choose from different implant types and techniques tailored to their body and expectations.

Long-Lasting Results

Modern techniques provide natural-looking and durable outcomes with the possibility for adjustments if needed.

Indications

Breast augmentation may be recommended for various conditions

Breast Hypoplasia

Breast Hypoplasia

Naturally small or underdeveloped breasts, either from birth or after pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Mammary Asymmetry

Mammary Asymmetry

Noticeable differences in breast size or shape that affect overall balance.

Post-pregnancy or weight changes

Post-pregnancy or weight changes

Volume loss or changes in shape that many women experience over time.

Partial Reconstruction

Partial Reconstruction

In some cases, augmentation can help restore symmetry after lumpectomy or trauma.

Techniques

How breast augmentation is performed

Implants

Implants remain the most common and versatile technique.

Polytech Implants

  • Manufactured under strict medical standards in Germany
  • Over 2,000 variations in shape, size, and surface to match different body types and goals
  • Options include round (Même®), anatomical teardrop (Replicon®, Opticon®, Opticon® Plus), and advanced surfaces such as Microthane® for greater stability
  • The Opticon® Plus provides a refined anatomical shape for even more personalized results

B-Lite® Lightweight Implants

  • Up to 30% lighter than traditional silicone implants
  • Reduce strain on breast tissue and help prevent sagging over time
  • Offer more comfort in daily life, faster recovery, and reliable imaging results (mammography, ultrasound)
  • Clinical studies show high satisfaction rates for both patients and surgeons

Dual-plane technique

A hybrid method where the implant is placed partly under the muscle and partly under the breast gland.

  • Reduces the risk of implant visibility or rippling
  • Improves fullness in the upper breast
  • Provides stable and long-term natural results

Evebra (Evecup)

A non-surgical alternative based on tissue expansion.

  • Worn like a bra, applying gentle, sustained tension to encourage natural breast growth (mechanotransduction)
  • Particularly suitable for women looking for a gradual, natural enhancement or as preparation for fat transfer
  • Requires several months of consistent use for visible results
  • The EVE system can also be used as a single treatment, for enlargement of the breast for maximum 1 to 1.5 cupsize

This technique is explained in detail on the dedicated Evebra page.

Lipofilling (fat transfer)

Uses your own fat tissue to increase breast volume.

  • 100% natural – no foreign material
  • Additional benefit of body contouring where fat is harvested
  • Best for subtle enhancement rather than large increases

This technique is explained in detail on the dedicated Lipofilling page.

A final note

Every woman's needs are different. Some may prefer lightweight implants, others advanced anatomical shapes, and some a gradual, non-surgical solution. Breast augmentation is not one path, but many, guided by your body, your goals, and a careful discussion with your surgeon.
